I have always hated the idea of using decorative swords and knives during ritual. For me, using swords and knives that aren’t real weapons has always felt wrong. I suppose it’s because some of the deities I worship are Gods of war. I would feel like I was being somewhat disrespectful coming before them with something that amounted to nothing more than a glorified toy.
Before the Internet, it was very difficult to find good quality weapons and replicas for religious purposes. About 25 years ago, I found this company and ordered a katana from them, which I still use from time to time in rituals to this day. It’s still in excellent condition after more than 20 years of use, so I thought I would post the link to the company’s website for anyone who might be interested in swords and knives. They also have decorative swords and historical replicas if you’re interested.
When it comes to buying things for religious purposes, I tend to stick with companies that have been around for a long time. I assume that if they have been in business for 25+ years it’s because they’re doing something right.
