RJ Womack Comment: This is an interesting news report from 1985. It illustrates exactly how far the paranoia went concerning Satanism. As ridiculous as many of these stories sound, there are still people who believe they’re true, particularly Christian conspiracy theorists. Law enforcement has repeatedly discredited any claims of organized criminal satanic cults, but some evangelical Christians and conspiracy theorists insist on keeping the myth alive even though the evidence does not support their claims.
I’ve seen quite a few stories in the last few weeks that lead me to believe that some Christians are trying to fan the flames of paranoia again by claiming that abortion is a holy sacrament in the satanic religion. This idea is not only false but absolutely ludicrous. The majority of Satanists who practice do not engage in any form of ritual sacrifice much less human sacrifice.
It’s clear that these claims are made by people who’ve never been practicing Satanists themselves and have never been an active member of the satanic community.
Even though I don’t expect this site to be visited by many young Satanists, I’m posting this video here for the benefit of younger Satanists who may not be aware of what it was like for people like us in the 1980s. I post it because it’s history, and history tends to repeat itself.
