RJ Womack Comment: Hi everybody, I’m really curious about what the visitors to my site think about issues affecting Satanism, so I’m going to start posting questions on Saturdays. Hopefully, it will spark some decent conversations and yield some interesting insights.

Here’s this week’s question?

Question: Do you think the recent activities of groups like the Satanic Temple and the Greater Church of Lucifer will have a long-term effect on Satanism?

Please leave your comments below.
Thanks, RJ

  1. Yes, because:

    1. they are promoting a positive version of Satanism/Luciferianism to challenge the stereotype that all we do is harm people and property.

    2. the greater publicity and new avenues of entry into the Left Hand Path will assist more people to become Satanists.

  2. I’d say yes, but only in the sense of raising awareness that Satanists are here to stay and aren’t a bunch of criminals. Neither group really brings anything new to the table in terms of philosophy or theology, so I think their long-term effects will be largely on the public’s perception of us, and not have a huge impact on the teachings of Satanism itself.

  3. I believe it will have an impact. But how long-term the impact will be is hard to say. I agree that it’s going to help Satanism to have a more positive image as long as the people involved in these groups don’t get too full of themselves, and they remember their original purpose.

I’m glad they’re doing what they’re doing, and I hope theistic Satanism groups join them in their activities soon. I’m extremely excited to see Satanists standing up for themselves and their rights. It’s about bloody time!
